Our Land, Our Responsibility
Interstate Business Park was designed and developed by native Utahans committed to protecting and investing in the environment.
Local Partnerships
As a designated Utah Inland Port Authority (UIPA) project area, Interstate Business Park has access to funding tools that enable us to invest in wetland restoration and enhancement, further strengthening the ecological value of the site.
Wetlands Preservation
Developing land in a significant wetlands area is a decision we take seriously. Aside from a small, carefully permitted ¼-acre crossing—reviewed and approved through a thorough process with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers—the surrounding wetlands are being preserved in perpetuity.
600 additional acres of wetlands outside the park are being considered for protection through a conservation easement or designation as a formal wetland mitigation bank.
Water Conservation

Advanced wastewater treatment system
provided by Orenco proactively manages wastewater onsite, for minimal impact on the Great Salt Lake ecosystems.

Strategically integrated engineered detention ponds
slow and filter stormwater before it reenters the natural system—protecting nearby wetlands and improving overall water quality.

Low-water landscaping
Low-water landscaping prioritizes native and drought-tolerant plant species through the park.
Energy Efficiency
High-performance insulation and HVAC systems, motion-activated lighting, low-energy equipment, and rooftop solar panels help reduce our carbon footprint.

Wildlife Support
Throughout the development we’ve taken proactive steps to support wildlife populations.
This includes installing artificial nesting platforms for native raptors and other bird species – including hawks, falcons, and owls – and preserving key habitat areas to minimize disruption and maintain the ecological balance on-site.
Tenant Criteria
Becoming an owner or builder in Interstate Business Park requires alignment with our environmental standards. Projects with high water demands are turned away in favor of those with lower-impact operations. We actively encourage tenants to incorporate energy-efficient building systems and sustainable design practices into their operations.
